Filling in some Gaps

We will begin to cross some wide open areas in the next few days on our trip back east. We will likely have some time to update you with some amazing experiences we have had. But let me tell you about one we experienced the day we officially finished Route 66.

We paid $32 to have 4 parking spaces at the Santa Monica Pier for our rig. I thought I had strategically positioned it so I could easily escape when we were finished in the ocean. However, when we dusted off the sand and loaded the rig, it appeared we were land locked until one or two strategic cars sensed it was time to leave the beach.

We were just sitting in the parking lot. I prayed a desparation prayer for help. Not too many minutes later a lady started waving at us. She came to my window and was curious if we would let her come in and take a look at our RV. I said, "sure, we're land locked and not going anywhere any time soon." She said, "what, you can get out of there. We drive two bigger rigs and could easily get out of that parking place."

I said "deal". You check out our rig and help us extricate it and we will be even. Within 10 minutes we were on our way to Malibu!! It was awesome.

Sometime you should ask us for the list of people we have given pens "Thanks for the Kicks on 66" During our trip, it is an amazing log!

Have a great evening. Talk to you soon.

Captain of the Crew

I love the RV stories. Resist the temptation to park it and fly home. If I ever take an RV trip, I will remember to pack a little giant incase of weather stripping emergencies.

Hey Tribe! Finally found your site & read the entire thing- makes me want to hit the road! Wish 66 went a little more West in IL. Love hearing the stories (especially the flying rolls & suction-do) Will check everyday now that I know how. (hope I am doing this part right!) Did you see cars? We did at a drive in nearby! I kept thinking of you all- perfect timing! Can't wait to hear & see more when we meet again! ~Love, MLTJ (&S) =-)
